New research just found that the Facebook pages responsible for spreading the most false information belong to Donald Trump, his son, and a whole bunch of right-wing idealists.

A new study by global human rights group Avaaz, which was cited by the New York Times, found that Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and conservative vloggers Diamond and Silk are the leading group of people in charge of Facebook pages that are spewing lies about several issues including the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 presidential election and more. Business Insider reports that the top 25 Facebook pages, which were run by the men, were responsible for over 25 percent of all election-related misinformation.

Trump is the first person responsible for spreading false information, the study found. Right below him is his son, and next to Donald Trump Jr. is right-wing commentators Dan Bongino, Diamond and Silk, and Mark Levin, according to Avaaz data reported by the New York Times. Some of the lies the men have spread include claiming that the 2020 presidential election was rigged in favor of Trump’s opponent, President-elect Joe Biden. Since the election, Trump has been calling for vote recounts in various states, alleging voter fraud. No evidence has shown that voter fraud has taken place.

Biden was named the president-elect on Nov. 6, and days after that, like before, Trump began a false information campaign in an attempt to convince anyone that the election was rigged and that he was the true winner. He has even tweeted, “I won the election,” knowing good and well he didn’t, and the numbers prove it. In the meantime, social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, have been warning users of posts that contain false information. A slew of Trump’s posts bear that warning, but that hasn’t stopped misled people from resharing his posts or others.

Avaaz data showed the top 25 “superspreaders” of misinformation were responsible for over 75 million likes, shares, and comments on Facebook, according to Business Insider.
