There is a legal ending to the burglary at Indiana Pacers star Paul George’s home.
According to WISH TV, a man named Michael was sentenced in March 2015 to 16 years, with the first 14 to be served in state prison followed by two years of community corrections. Police said he broke into George’s home in April 2014 while the Pacers were on the road for a playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks. He was arrested in September 2014.
Authorities said the stolen items included an NBA All Star ring, a watch, a pair of sneakers and $20 in cash. Earlier reports valued the haul at around $15,000. According to WISH TV, none of the property was recovered.
It is a long sentence for a burglary, and a reminder that cases like this can follow someone for years.
