Rudy Giuliani denies claims that he asked Donald Trump to pardon him: “NYT Lies Again.”

Giuliani, former Mayor of New York and Trump’s lawyer, denies rumors he had a conversation with Trump about a pardon. The New York Times first reported the alleged news on Tuesday, detailing how Giuliani had a conversation with Trump “as recently as last week” about receiving a potential pre-emptive pardon before Trump leaves office, The Wrap reports.

But, Giuliani says the conversation never happened. “Fake News. NYT lies again. Never had the discussion they falsely attribute to an anonymous source. Hard to keep up with all their lies,” Giuliani said via Twitter. Giuliani’s spokeswoman told the New York Times that,  “Mayor Giuliani cannot comment on any discussions that he has with his client.”

There are no details on what exactly Giuliani would want to be pardoned for. However, an investigation was launched last year into his business in Ukraine, an issue that eventually led to Trump’s impeachment. Giuliani’s connection to an alleged plot to get the American ambassador in the country out of his position was also federally investigated.

The New York Times article was published on Tuesday and claims that Giuliani is allegedly seeking a pre-emptive pardon. The article notes two unnamed people they spoke to with knowledge of the alleged conversation between Trump and Giuliani. The unknown sources said it wasn’t clear who started the conversation and that it was not immediately clear if Trump planned on going through with the request, Independent reported.

#FakeNews NYT lies again. Never had the discussion they falsely attribute to an anonymous source. Hard to keep up with all their lies.
