Kevin Hart & Wesley Snipes Will Play Brothers In Netflix Drama Series

Netflix has announced “True Story,” a new limited drama series that will star Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes as brothers.

The eight-episode series, which was announced on Wednesday, will tell the story of a comedian named Kid, who will be portrayed by Hart. While in his hometown of Philadelphia during a tour stop, Kid visits his older brother Carlton, played by Snipes. A drastic turn of events during his visit will place his career and life in jeopardy.

In a statement, Hart expressed his adoration for Snipes and the opportunity to work alongside him.

“I’ve never been more excited about an acting project in my career. I’ve always been a fan of Wesley Snipes, and working with him is mind-blowing,” he added, according to Yahoo News.

“True Story” is written by Eric Newman, with Hart serving as an executive producer through his HartBeat Productions. Newman is also set to executive produce along with Charles Murray. HartBeat Productions will produce the series alongside Mike Stein and Tiffany Brown, with Caroline Currier overseeing Grand Electric. Stephen Williams will take over as director and executive producer of the first half of the series. Hanelle Culpepper will direct the second half, according to Deadline.

Hart also assured fans that he and his production company would not disappoint, saying that “nobody is ready for what this show is going to be.”

Newman says that he is ecstatic to work with both Snipes and Hart, referring to the duo as a “dream team.”

An official has yet to be revealed.
