Apple Fitness+ is set to launch on December 14.

Apple Fitness+ is giving its consumers a new way to workout at home. As most millions of gym memberships are canceled amid the Covid-19 pandemic, more people opt to get their physical fitness at home. According to Slash Gear, Apple’s new Apple Fitness+ will give Apple user studio-style workouts that allow you to continue practicing social distancing. The service is now reportedly in direct competition with Peloton, Mirror, and other companies alike.

Instead of purchasing a bike or treadmill like with some companies, Apple requires you to wear an Apple Watch and turn on an Apple-operated screen like a tablet, phone, TV, or iPad.

The launch will include 10 workouts: High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Strength, Yoga, Dance, Core, Cycling, Treadmill (for running and walking), Rowing, and Mindful Cooldown. Some of the workouts do require you to have the equipment which the company says is optional.

The Apple Watch connects to Apple Fitness+ and shows your metrics and the trainers you are using on your devices. It features your heart rate, timers, and a “Burn Bar” on-screen. Users will have the ability to choose from 10, 20, 30, and 45 minutes. Also, the application will have fitness introduction videos for each style of exercise. Users will also be able to share their fitness stats with family, friends, or on social media.

Apple Fitness+ will be ready to use on December 14. People interested in signing up for the program will have to have been running iOS 14.3, watchOS 7.2, iPadOS 14.3, and tvOS 14.3 on your relevant device. Apple Fitness+ will cost $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year, and one subscription can support up to six family members, the outlet reports.
