Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump’s personal attorney, is the latest affiliate of the President to be infected with the coronavirus, and much like Trump, the former mayor of New York City was lucky enough to receive exceptional COVID-19 treatment over the past week, including advice from the White House’s chief doctor.

According to ABC News, Giuliani was hospitalized on Sunday after contracting COVID-19 and was extremely honest and transparent about the reality that he was treated like a “celebrity.” Giuliani, like many of Trump’s other close allies, admitted he received access to measures of treatment average Americans would not get.

“I think if it wasn’t me, I wouldn’t have been put in the hospital,” Giuliani acknowledged on Tuesday during a phoned-in radio interview he gave from his Washington hospital room.

Giuliani revealed that Trump’s physician at the White House had pushed him to check himself into the hospital, even though Giuliani admitted at the time he was resistant to doing so. He also tweeted on Thursday that the doctor was Sean Conley, the president’s chief physician.

“His doctor sent me here,” Giuliani said Tuesday. “He talked me into it. I didn’t really want to go to the hospital, and he said, ‘Don’t be stupid. We can get it over within three days if we send you to the hospital.’”

While Giuliani didn’t elaborate on what help if any, he received from Dr. Conley beyond the initial push to get him admitted into the hospital. The White House declined to comment on whether Trump had asked Conley or any member of the White House medical unit to step in and assist Giuliani in the first place.

He also admitted to initially downplaying his symptoms, calling it “very mild,” on Tuesday. Today he described his symptoms as having been “serious,” saying he had experienced some difficulty breathing.

Giuliani admitted that he received “the cocktail,” which is believed to be the steroid dexamethasone, and the antiviral medication Remdesivir. The same medications Trump received in his treatment of the coronavirus.
