Scam Alert: Bogus Drake Tour Scheduled For May

Shortly after Drake dropped his latest “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” project, a ton of tickets went on sale for 8 tour dates around the country in May. With prices ranging up to $350 for stops in Miami, Houston and more, fans were paying big bucks to see the Toronto rapper. Unfortunately for them, Drake is in no way involved.

A janky promoter has booked an entire tour in Drake’s name. In a nutshell, fans have been scammed into buying concert tickets that don’t exist. One of the nonexistent concerts was advertised to happen at the Arena Theatre in southwest Houston on May 17. Sources close to Drake have already confirmed that this concert is a fake.

Members of Drake’s team are hunting down the scam artists. They have encouraged venues and fans who have been taken advantage of, to contact their local authorities.

This wouldn’t be the first time a promoter has managed to pull off this type of scam using Drake’s name. A simple search on the internet can recover a few times this has happened, most recently in 2011.

If you’re reading this, it’s not too late to call your bank.
