Fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, who is serving a five-month sentence after pleading guilty in the college admission scandal, is in protective custody in prison because of COVID-19 concerns within the facility. Santa Barbara County Public Health Department reported 1,038 coronavirus cases and four coronavirus-related deaths at the prison.
ABC News reported that in a post on Instagram, Giannulli’s son Gianni said that his father “had been locked in solitary confinement for one full month” and has been “only let out every 3 days for a moment to shower.”
In May, Giannulli and his wife Lori Loughlin plead guilty to bribery. Loughlin received two months in prison, a $150,000 fine, and 100 hours of community service. Giannulli received a $250,000 fine, two years supervised release, and 250 hours of community service.
