A Missouri Amazon delivery worker named Alyssa has been charged with stealing after police said security footage showed her taking packages from porches along her delivery route.
According to the New York Post, police in O’Fallon said that on December 15 and December 17, Alyssa and a coworker stopped to take packages that had already been dropped off at homes.
The Post reported that surveillance video showed a woman in a dark hoodie and a yellow safety vest pulling up in a truck and taking a package from a porch before heading back to the vehicle. Police said Amazon helped identify her by providing a photo of her arriving at work in the same sweatshirt seen in the footage.
KSDK reported that at least 20 packages were taken, with a combined value of about $750.
The Post also reported that Alyssa did not answer the door when officers came to speak with her, and that she is no longer working for Amazon. Her coworker had not been charged at the time of the reports. Neither outlet included a statement from Alyssa, and a charge is an accusation, not a finding of guilt.
