A 7-year-old Tennessee boy named Eli jumped through his little sister’s window to rescue her heroically.

CNN reports that earlier this month, a fire broke out at Chris and Nicole Davidson’s home. The couple could get their 2-year-old son Elijah and Eli, who they have been fostering, to safety, but 22-month-old Erin was trapped in her crib.

“The smoke and fire was so thick there was no way I could get to her,” Chris Davidson told the publication. “We went outside to get to her from the window, but there was nothing for me to stand on to reach up there. So I picked up Eli, who went through the window and was able to grab her from her crib.”

Chris told the outlet they could not be more proud of Eli’s brave actions. Eli was able to rescue baby Erin before the house was completely engulfed in flames.

“I thought I couldn’t do it, but then I said, ‘I got her, dad,'” Eli told the outlet. “I was scared, but I didn’t want my sister to die.”

The couple, both former firefighters, have fostered 34 children, including Eli. Erin and Elijah were both adopted by the Davidson’s.

A GoFundMe was set up for the family, who lost everything. The online fundraiser currently has far exceeded its $5,000 goal, sitting at more than $305,000.
