The NBA has fined 76ers President of Operations Daryl Morey $50,000 for a social media post about James Harden.
Morey was slapped with the fine on Monday after posting about Houston player James Harden last week in a now-deleted tweet, the league said.
The tweet said, “#OnThisDay 1 year ago – twitter memories via onthisday.me” and then showed a picture of Harden with words that said, “James Harden breaks Calvin Murphy’s franchise assist record.
But according to the tweet and several reporters, it appears the post was generated through an automated system, and Morey didn’t actually tweet it.
However, the NBA said the tweet still violated their antitampering rule.
According to reports, James Harden has requested to be traded from the Rockets, and Philly is one of the teams he’s looking to go to.
