In support of others, British model Owen Mooney has come forward with sexual assault allegations against Alexander Wang, 37, on Monday.
The Brit model opened up about the incident in Tik Tok videos with claims that the incident took place in 2017.
In the first video, he spoke about being touched by a famous designer while watching rapper CupcakKe perform at a club a few years back, Daily Mail noted.
‘I was by myself at one point, and this guy next to me obviously took advantage of the fact that no one could f**king move,’ Mooney said.
‘And he just started touching me up. Like, fully up my leg, in my crotch. It made me freeze completely because I was in so much shock.’
‘Then I look to my left to see who it was, and it was a really famous fashion designer, and I just couldn’t believe that he was doing that to me.’
It wasn’t until the second video did Mooney reveal that the famous designer was Wang as he branded him a ‘massive sexual predator.’
“He needs to be exposed. People with this kind of status they think their power gives them this pass to do this to people.”
After the video captured the attention of many, Mooney released a brief statement. ‘With everything that has come to light, I want the focus to be on the many allegations pouring in after I shared my story,’ Mooney said, according to Insider.
‘Although what happened to me was unacceptable, the stories being told by other victims is the reason why I have gone public.’
His videos were among many uploaded by fashion industry watchdog Sh!t Model Management earlier the week. Most of the videos shared were screenshots of allegations sent in by anonymous users, mostly male and trans models.
Several of the accusers revealed shared stories that were similar to Mooney’s. Others alleged that the famous fashion designer spiked their drink with MDMA without their consent.
Model Alliance, a fashion advocacy group, released a statement a day later in support of Wang’s accusers.
“We at Model Alliance stand in solidarity with those who have shared accusations of sexual abuse by Alexander Wang,” the Instagram statement read.
“Let’s be clear: The fashion industry’s lack of transparency and accountability leaves all models vulnerable to abuse, regardless of their sex or gender identity.”
After all of the accusations, Alexander Wang responded in a statement released by PEOPLE. “Over the last few days, I have been on the receiving end of baseless and grotesquely false accusations. These claims have been wrongfully amplified by social media accounts infamous for posting defamatory material from undisclosed and/or anonymous sources with zero evidence or any fact checking whatsoever,” according to the statement.
He continued, “Seeing these lies about me being perpetuated as truths has been infuriating,” Wang continued. “I have never engaged in the atrocious behavior described and would never conduct myself in the manner that’s been alleged. I intend to get to the bottom of this and hold accountable whoever is responsible for originating these claims and viciously spreading them online.”
