March 2nd is quickly approaching and still no sight of this mythical Dez Bryant footage. No inkling of what’s on the tape, not even a snippet. What we have heard is that the Dallas Cowboys have chosen to franchise Bryant.Â
The move guarantees Dez roughly $13 million in 2015. It’s not exclusive, so if a team is willing to give up two first-round picks in the event Dallas does not choose to match an offer sheet, he’s free to go. The likelihood of that? Who knows?
Bryant changed agents in November after the Cowboys thought they were close to a multiyear agreement. Owner Jerry Jones says during scouting combine that he hoped the franchise tag would be a “placeholder” until the two sides can work out a long-term deal. Bryant told ESPN during the season that he would be “highly disappointed” if he was given the tag.
Since the word has to be given by 4pm tomorrow, we’ll just have to see how this all plays out.Â
