As music mogul Dr. Dre lay in the intensive care unit at a Los Angeles hospital following a brain aneurysm on Monday, burglars saw an opportunity to score a big lick at his Pacific Palisades home.
The attempted burglary took place early Wednesday morning. Around 2:00 a.m., security noticed four men staking out Dr. Dre’s home. Security confronted the men, who then took off running. Authorities were notified, and LAPD officers quickly responded to the scene. Officers apprehended the suspects after a short foot chase.
Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, is in stable condition at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. On Tuesday, he released a statement to his Instagram page, thanking his supporters for their well wishes and assured them that he was on the road to recovery.
“Thanks to my family, friends, and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon.”
