Two Trump administration Officials Resign Following U.S. Capitol Riot

In the wake of Pro-Trump supporters violently overtaking the U.S. Capitol, the White House has lost two of the “longest-serving Trump administration officials.”

After authorities finally contained the unrest protests in Washington D.C., Stephanie Grisham, the former White House communications director and press secretary and current chief of staff to First Lady Melania Trump, submitted her resignation immediately.

In a statement to CNN, Grisham confirmed the news.

“It has been an honor to serve the country in the White House. I am very proud to have been a part of Mrs. Trump’s mission to help children everywhere, and proud of the many accomplishments of this Administration.”

Grisham began working for Donald Trump in 2015 as a press wrangler on his campaign trail. Two years later, Grisham was hired by the first lady for her East Wing staff after serving as a deputy press secretary under Sean Spicer. Over time, Grisham rose to become Melania’s “most prominent staffer.”

She is joined in resigning from her White House duties with Anna Cristina “Rickie” Niceta, the White House social secretary, CNN stated.

Niceta served as the Administration’s only social secretary since Feb. 2017. During that time, she “[conducted] and [oversaw] all events at the White House, from small meetings in the West Wing to the annual Easter Egg Roll, Halloween, state visits, and congressional picnics and galas.”

As numbers continue to mount in those opposing Trump’s behavior in the White House,  there is a growing sense that many may follow and part ways with the Administration before his final day in office.
