A patent that Apple applied for in 2019 for a head-mounted device was granted. The device has the ability to unlock all Apple personal devices at one time.
According to 9to5Mac, the patent details options for users that don’t want their devices to be unlocked without user interaction.
“Authenticated device assisted user authentication includes detecting by an authenticated device, a proximate device, wherein a user of the authenticated device is currently authenticated to access a restricted-access function of the authenticated device, an intent determination for the user with respect to a restricted-access function of the proximate device, performing, by the authenticated device, authentication assistance for the user with respect to the proximate device,” the patent says.
Apple continues to lead in innovation. The company is set to announce its first fiscal quarter results on January 27. The results will reflect the sales of the iPhone 12 and M1 Mac models.
