Hallmark Requests Donated Money Back From Republican Senators Who Claimed Presidential Election Fraud

Hallmark wants its money back from two Republican Senators who claimed the Presidential election was rigged.

Josh Hawley (Mo.) and Roger Marshall (Kan.) will have to send back the money that was donated to them by Hallmark Cards, as the company is pulling back its association with the politicians following the domestic terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol last week. 

According to Popular Information, the company’s political action committee (HALLPAC) requested Hawley return a $7,000 donation and that Marshall return a $5,000 they received from the company. The donations were sent to the men in the past election cycle, Complex Media reports. 

Hallmark’s move comes after both senators claimed the Electoral Results were set up to name President-elect Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election. Hawley and Marshall, supporters of Donald Trump, cosigned Trump after he alleged that voter fraud took place in Pennsylvania and Arizona. Other companies like Facebook, Mastercard, Microsoft are also looking into the donations they’ve given to specific Republican Party members.

In a statement, Hallmark spoke out about its decisions to request its donations back. “Hallmark believes the peaceful transition of power is part of the bedrock of our democratic system, and we abhor violence of any kind,” said a company spokeswoman, JiaoJiao Shen, to The Kansas City Star. “The recent actions of Senators Josh Hawley and Roger Marshall do not reflect our company’s values. As a result, HALLPAC requested Sens. Hawley and Marshall to return all HALLPAC campaign contributions.”
