Congresswoman Who Tweeted Nancy Pelosi’s Location During Riot Is Suspended For Violating Twitter Rules

A Republican congresswoman who live-tweeted Nancy Pelosi’s location during the Capitol riot has now had her Twitter suspended.

Rep. Lauren Boebert’s account will remain suspended until the end of Inauguration Day. The social media platform stated that Boebert violated Twitter rules, though it is unclear which ones she directly violated. The newly appointed Congresswoman will still be allowed to send direct messages and scroll her timeline during the lockout. She shared a screenshot of the Twitter ban with her Instagram followers on Wednesday.

During the siege, Boebert tweeted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had been removed from the chambers. Many have criticized her for revealing this information, which could have resulted in Pelosi being harmed by the dangerous crowd.

“They accuse me of live-tweeting the Speaker’s presence after she had been safely removed from the Capitol as if I was revealing some big secret when in fact, this removal was also being broadcast on TV,” Boebert responded.

The Colorado Congresswoman had repeatedly defended Donald Trump’s claims of election fraud. She stood by him when Twitter decided to ban him for inciting the violence at the Capitol on January 6th. She has also been accused of helping to incite the violence by repeating the dangerous rhetoric.
