The man pictured carrying the Confederate flag into the Capitol during last week’s riot has been identified as Kevin Seefried; he was later arrested on Thursday in Delaware.

Two law enforcement officers told The New York Times that Seefried was arrested for his role in the deadly Capitol riot that occurred last Wednesday.

Joy Jiaras, a public affairs specialist with the Baltimore FBI office, confirmed to Newsweek that Seefried had turned himself in to the U.S. Marshall Service in Wilmington, Delaware.

On Sunday, the FBI’s field office in Washington sent out a tweet asking the public for any information they had about the man holding the Confederate flag during the Capitol raid.

To locate those who broke into the Capitol building, law enforcement has been sifting through thousands of photographs and videos. So far, there have been dozens of arrests made. A top federal prosecutor said he expects hundreds of arrests to occur in relation to the deadly riot that took place.

The FBI will continue to ask the public to locate the pro-Trump supporters who were rioting to prevent the certification of electoral votes.

Washington, D.C., and other state capitals are preparing for more violence this upcoming weekend and next week before President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration. In Chicago, authorities have already arrested one man who made threats against the inauguration.

Washington, D.C. has already closed off some roads, and some reports say that the National Mall will be closed on Inauguration Day. Biden is expected to be inaugurated next Wednesday as the 46th president. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no crowds at the inauguration.
