Nestlé Prepared Foods recalled certain pepperoni Hot Pockets amid concerns that they might be contaminated with hazardous materials.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Friday that Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling particular pepperoni Hot Pockets that reportedly contain glass and hard plastic. There are four consumer complaints of foreign materials found inside the frozen snacks. One of the complaints reported a minor oral injury associated with the consumption of the contaminated product.
According to CNN, the Class I recall applies to 54-ounce 12 packs of pepperoni Hot Pockets with a best by date of February 2022 and lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614, and 0321544614. The establishment number “EST. 7721A” appears inside the USDA mark of inspection on the packaging. Recalled Hot Pockets have a best if used by date of February 2022.
The outlet reports that approximately 762,615 pounds of the recalled product were shipped to stores nationwide.
