In a strange carjacking incident in Oregon, a man stole a car with a 4-year-old in it and went back to the scene to lecture the child’s mother about her parenting.
According to The Oregonian, the child’s mother parked the car outside of a Beaverton grocery store and ran in to get milk and some meat. The car thief saw the vehicle was unlocked with the keys in the ignition and took advantage of the opportunity.
What the thief didn’t bargain on was the small child sitting in a booster seat behind him. The thief drove back up to the store and demanded she took the kid out of the car and scolded her for leaving the child in the running vehicle.
“He orders her to take the kid out of the car, and she does,” said Officer Matt Henderson, a Beaverton police spokesman. “He actually lectured the mother for leaving the child in the car and threatened to call the police on her.”
After taking the child from the car, the carjacker drove off again in her Honda Pilot SUV.
“Obviously, we’re thankful he brought the little one back and had the decency to do that,” Henderson said.
Police described the suspect as a man in his 20s or 30s who has dark brown or black braided hair and was wearing a multi-colored face mask. They are asking anyone with information to contact Beaverton police.
