As COVID-19 cases continue to mount in America, Disneyland has announced that it has canceled all annual passes and indefinitely suspended the yearly pass holder program.

“Due to the continued uncertainty of the pandemic and limitations around the reopening of our California theme parks, we will be issuing appropriate refunds for eligible Disneyland resort Annual Passports and sunsetting the current program,” Disneyland resort president Ken Potrock said in a statement.

At the beginning of the year, Disneyland officials notified pass holders of the change through email.

“For nearly four decades, our Annual Passport program has been an important part of connecting with some of our most valued Guests. We are incredibly honored and grateful for that legacy and the memories and magical moments you have helped us create over the years,” the email from Potrock read in part.

“I know that sunsetting the Annual Passport program will be disappointing to many of our Passholders who are just as anxious as we are to reopen our gates and welcome Guests back when the time is right.”

Starting Thursday, Jan.14, the park will begin issuing refunds to annual pass holders, Disney officials say.

The popular theme-park plans to create a new membership program available to consumers at a later date.

“We are currently developing new membership offerings that will utilize consumer insights to deliver choice, flexibility, and value for our biggest fans,” he continued.

Orange County will currently use Disneyland in California has a “supersite” for coronavirus vaccinations.
