O’Brien’s Wholesale Meats has urgently recalled six of its different ham varieties over a bacteria contamination that makes pregnant women and the elderly sick.
Hundreds of legs of ham are being recalled with dates from March 24 to April 6, the Daily Mail reports.
Listeria contamination is a harmful microbe that can cause illness in expecting women and their unborn babies. It also is harmful to the elderly and people with poor immune systems.
According to the Food Standards Australia alert, if you purchased any of the products, you should return them to the store you purchased from for a full refund.
The products recalled are:
· Full Boneless Leg Ham (various weights) – use by 24 March 2021, 1 April 2021, 6 April 2021
· Champagne Leg Ham (various weights) – use by 1 April 2021, 6 April 2021
· Half Leg Ham (various weights) – use by 1 April 2021, 6 April 2021
· Half Boneless Leg Ham (various weights) – use by 6 April 2021
· Third Leg Ham (various weights) – use by 6 April 2021
