A South Carolina Chick-Fil-A manager had to step in to direct a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site after it was hit with a computer glitch that backed up the line.
According to Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie, a COVID-19 vaccination drive-thru line set up in a church parking lot was backed up for over an hour. Realizing that Chick-Fil-A is famous for its drive-thru line management skills, the Mayor sought help from one of the chain’s local restaurant managers.
“We asked local Chick-Fil-A manager Jerry Walkowiak for help today after a computer glitch backed up things at the drive-through vaccination site. Instead of just giving advice, this video shows what he did,” the Mayor wrote in a Facebook post.
Haynie tweeted a video showing Walkowiak flawlessly directing vehicles through the ten vaccination sites at the location, where 1,032 vaccination appointments had been scheduled.
