One of the men who led the January 6th invasion on the U.S. Capitol is a member of the Proud Boys who had manuals that detailed how to make bombs, guns, and poisons on a thumb drive, federal prosecutors allege.
According to the Business Insider, Dominic Pezzola, 43, was the bearded man who smoked a cigar while leading the angry rioters around the Capitol following the Pro-Trump rally.
In their documents, federal prosecutors argued for his pretrial detention, alleging he used a police riot shield to smash a Capitol window to let the mob in, making him “among the first — if not the first” to break inside the building.
A police search of Pezzola’s home uncovered a thumb drive that contains hundreds of detailed pdfs, with titles like: “The Ultimate DIY Machine Pistol,” “Advanced Improvised Explosives,” and “Ragnar’s Big Book of Homemade Weapons.”
Mike Scibetta, Pezzola’s lawyer, told Reuters that the thumb drive that contained “survivalist materials” was given to his client.
“The government has cherry-picked a small portion of the paper to suit their narrative,” Scibetta told the news agency.
