Ever since the HBO Max Sex and the City revival was announced earlier this month, details about the show have slowly emerged.

Sarah Jessica Parker spoke to Vanity Fair on Friday, where she confirmed the limited series would tackle the subject of the coronavirus pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic will “obviously be part of the storyline because that’s the city [these characters] live in,” Parker told the publication. “And how has that changed relationships once friends disappear? I have great faith that the writers are going to examine it all.”

Titled And Just Like That, the series will follow characters Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they navigate their 50s.

Parker will once again play the beloved character of Carrie Bradshaw in the revival. Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are set to play their original roles of Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha, will be noticeably absent in the reboot. Parker has previously confirmed that the character of Samantha will not be replaced.

The ten-episode, half-hour series will be executive produced by Michael Patrick King. It is being written with the assistance of an all-female writers’ room, which Parker said is “incredibly diverse in a really exciting way.”
