A Bronx man is facing a murder charge in the death of a man who was set on fire in Brooklyn last fall, according to reports.
The New York Post, citing police sources, reports that Errol, 28, told investigators he set a man named Patrick on fire in September in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens area of Brooklyn. The Post reports the dispute was over a scooter that Errol believed Patrick had stolen from him. Patrick was experiencing homelessness at the time.
The Post reports that Patrick suffered third degree burns over 90 percent of his body. He lived for about a month before dying from his injuries. He was 46.
Errol was arrested on Saturday in Mount Vernon in Westchester County and has been charged with second degree murder. A charge is an allegation, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. A response from Errol was not available at the time of reporting.
