Police in Vacaville, California arrested a man in connection with the deaths of two women after a viewer reported a Facebook livestream that appeared to show them on the floor of an apartment.
According to the Vacaville Police Department, officers went to the Rocky Hill Veterans Apartments at 12:42 a.m. on Saturday after a woman called about what she saw in the livestream. The Los Angeles Times reports she saw an armed man inside an apartment with two bodies on the floor. In a Facebook post, the department described the video this way: “The video showed the man carrying a handgun and two women lying on the floor, not moving.”
Police say the man had barricaded himself inside, so officers called in a SWAT team and negotiators and evacuated the building. When he would not come out, officers entered using distraction devices and chemical agents and used a Taser after a brief struggle, police said.
Authorities identified the suspect as Raymond, 29, of Sacramento. He was booked into the Solano County jail and is being held without bail on suspicion of murder. Records show he is expected in court on Tuesday. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, and a response from him was not available at the time of reporting.
Police said officers found two women dead inside the apartment. The cause of death remains under investigation, and their names are being withheld until family members are notified.
