A woman who was reported missing last week has been found, her body located inside a car at a Walmart parking lot in West Virginia.
According to a press release from the Morgantown Police Department, 32-year-old Alexa Randolph was reported missing Thursday night after no one could reach her or locate her white 2018 Ford Escape.
Randolph was last seen around 2:45 p.m. that day at her apartment in Morgantown.
Investigators working her disappearance discovered Randolph’s car that Friday afternoon in a Walmart parking lot on Hornbeck Road.
Police say that Randolph was found dead “in the cargo area of the vehicle,” and her cause of death has not yet been released.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office says that detectives are now investigating her death as a homicide.
The Statement read: “Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office Detectives will assume the lead in this investigation to avoid jurisdiction issues with any possible leads, suspects, and evidence that may be outside of the Morgantown City limits,” Adding that, “This case is being investigated as a homicide and the integrity of the investigation will dictate future releases of information.”
