Minnesota Timberwolves star Malik Beasley and rumored boo to Larsa Pippen has been sentenced to 120 days in jail after pleading guilty to pointing a gun at a family back in September.
According to Hennepin County, Minn. prosecutors, the incident unfolded when Beasley’s Plymouth house was mistakenly placed on a “Parade of Homes” list, which is a tour of luxurious mansions in the area. The parade stopped in front of his residence on September 26th, causing vehicles to line up. This apparently angered Beasley, who walked toward one of the vehicles and aimed his gun at it. He ordered the family to leave, which they did.
The 24-year-old was arrested and charged with felony threats of violence and felony drug possession for marijuana that was located in his home. Beasley pled guilty to the threat charge during a virtual hearing in December. Prosecutors agreed to drop the drug charge.
“I was not in my right mind. I’m ready to move on,” he said during the hearing.
During his virtual court date on Tuesday, he was sentenced to 120 days in a jail facility known as “The Workhouse” at Hennepin County Adult Corrections Facility. As part of the sentencing, the judge ruled that Beasley will not have to serve his sentence during the NBA season. He will need to report to jail on May 26th. Also, he was ordered to complete anger management and issued a lifetime ban on firearms.
Depending on COVID-19 precautions, Malik Beasley may end up being released to monitored home confinement.
At his sentencing, Beasley issued an apology for his actions that night.
“I am not that person. I humbly apologize for my actions.”
