Tessica Brown can finally let out a huge sigh of relief: her hair has been officially unstuck from the Gorilla Glue that she applied over a month ago.
It was previously reported that plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng offered to do a $12,500 service on Brown’s hair for free.
Initially Brown used Gorilla Glue Spray Adhesive after running out of hair spray, thinking that she would be able to wash it out. Since then, she has been suffering from severe headaches, which led her to try at-home remedies to remove the product from her hair. When that didn’t work, she went to the ER. Unfortunately, everything just made her scalp burn even more.
In a video obtained from TMZ, Dr. Obeng shared his secret to removing the glue, which is just basic chemistry. In his explanation, he said that he combined medical grade adhesive remover, aloe vera, olive oil, and a dash of acetone. Now I wouldn’t try this at home, but you can watch the video if you’re interested in knowing how it worked
We are just happy that Tessica was able to get the Gorilla Glue out of her hair and still keep her hair at the same time. She said she can’t wait to get her hair back to its regular length, and she was amazed at how much of her hair Dr. Obeng was able to save. She told TMZ that she was prepared to wear wigs for the rest of her life, but now that Dr. Obeng was able to help her with this procedure, she won’t need them for too long.
