Super Bowl Champ, Brandon Browner, isn’t exactly happy with Kanye’s Grammy antics and he let it be known on Twitter last night. cornerback took to social media to blast Kanye West for not only interrupting Beck’s acceptance speech, but insinuating that Beck isn’t a true artist.
“Kanye West is a sucka!” Browner tweeted, “Everybody don’t listen to Beyonce. Second time he tried to steal somebody shine. First time it was a 15 year old girl.” He even went as far as to say Kanye knows who to try. “Kanye try and play that ‘I’m weird because of my genius.’ None of the greats pull that stupid ish. Marley, Mike Jack, Tupac, Jay-Z, etc. Peep who he tried, Beck and Taylor Swift. Real tough guy. If only I could’ve been Beck for one night, Kanye would be rapping through the wire.”
Browner did make sure to acknowledge that Beyonce is “the truth” and maintains that his beef is with Kanye’s antics, not Beyonce. Browner’s rant went on for about another hour or two before I assume, he went to bed like the rest of us.
He capped the Twitter rant by saying, “Don’t be afraid of people’s opinions. Real music is what people want to hear.”
I have been a Kanye fan since the day I heard “Through The Wire” but Browner isn’t exactly wrong here. Beck has been in the game for two-decades or more and even Beyonce knows she can’t/won’t win them all. Beck winning doesn’t make Beyonce any less great and it’s very tacky to downplay him as an artist because you’d rather see your friend walk away with the award. Beyonce took home her 19th, 20th and 21st Grammy Award last night, she was happy and content. Is it too much for Kanye to just relax? Beck is far more deserving of a Grammy than that “Yeezus” album, if I must be frank.
It also seems Kanye is only most verbal these days when it has to do with him and his friends. The same Kanye that said George Bush doesn’t care about black people, no longer exists now that he’s married his white wife and sits front row during Paris Fashion Week. Kanye’s last rants all had to do with the fashion industry not accepting him but since he got Kim a cover on Vogue, he’s been mute. It seems he wants more white acceptance than he wants justice for his brothers and sisters, these days. Sad. I miss “Through The Wire” Kanye.
