A woman made off with a $15,000 diamond ring after causing a scene at a jewelry store about a previous purchase.
According to authorities, the unidentified thief went to Gold Silver Creations in Key West on Feb. 10 and was apparently “complaining a lot.”
Store manager Bigya Niroula said the woman asked if she could try on the ring—a size seven, 14-carat white gold ring with three diamonds.
The manager said she told the woman, “Sure.” When the manager left the woman to help someone else, the woman swapped the expensive ring for one of her own and left the store, the New York Post reported.
The manager was able to take some photos of the suspect, who was wearing a skin-tight floral outfit, leopard-print mask, and had her hair in two buns.
The woman is believed to be from Homestead but possibly living with her boyfriend in Stock Island Key, near Key West, cops said.
There is a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to her arrest.
