LAPD Tells Lady Gaga To Wait To Award Woman Who Returned Her Dogs Until Investigation Is Over; Authorities Say Woman Could Be Tied To Her Dogs’ Robbers

The woman who returned Lady Gaga‘s stolen dogs to her reportedly hasn’t received her $500,000 award.

On Feb. 24, Gaga’s dog walker Ryan Fischer was robbed of the singer’s dogs while walking them at night. Afterward, the star sent out an award offering $500,000 to the person who could get the dogs back to her. However, police have told Gaga to hold up on paying the woman, as they’ve launched an investigation to see if the woman is tied to the robbers.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, investigators are also looking into whether or not the robbery was a part of an initiation for gang members.

Police do not believe the woman has any connection to the robbers, but they aren’t giving Gaga the green light just yet. The two dogs that were taken were Gustov and Koji.

As for the dog walker, Fischer is okay and is healing from injuries, which included a gunshot wound. According to Daily Mail, Fischer thanked the first responders who saved his life from his “attempted murderers.” He is expected to make a full recovery, but he says he wasn’t sure he would survive the attack.

“I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we’d been on together, apologized that I couldn’t defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them…and myself,” he said.

“Hopeful that my calm(ish) and forceful pleas for the urgency of my care as well as the focused descriptions of the dogs would be enough to help me and get enough police and media attention to find the boys, I looked back at my guardian angel. I smiled at her shaking form, thankful that at least she would be okay. From that point, right as the neighbors poured from their homes and restaurant to us on the sidewalk, life has taken a very sudden and unexpected turn,” said Fischer.
