More than 400 people that work at a Tesla plant in Fremont, California, tested positive for COVID-19 between May and December, according to Plain Site.

California ordered manufacturing plants to close down a year ago. At the time, Elon Musk called the closures “unnecessary.”

440 cases were reported at the Tesla plant, with the highest amount in December. According to the Washington Post, Tesla workers who failed to report to work in June and July were terminated.

Musk has questioned the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine on Twitter and called virus restrictions “fascist.”

It’s only a story because it’s Tesla. Every other auto plant in the US is open and has been open, with the same rate of Covid, and I haven’t heard a peep.
