According to police, a Florida woman pretended to be a licensed plastic surgeon and botched a man’s nose job.
Alcalira Jimenez De Rodriguez, 56, was in the middle of performing another procedure on Thursday when police arrested her.
Last month, authorities launched an investigation into Jimenez De Rodriguez after receiving a complaint from a former patient who claimed his nose job was botched.
Vincenzo Zurlo, the alleged victim, told NBC Miami that he met Jimenez De Rodriguez through a mutual friend. Before asking her about a rhinoplasty, he had been getting Botox treatments.
He then told the station that he was dissatisfied with the initial procedure and was in excruciating pain. Jimenez De Rodriguez allegedly offered to perform a second corrective procedure, but the results were also disappointing.
Zurlo told the station, “She ruined my life,” the surgery cost $2,800.
According to the Herald, Jimenez De Rodriguez does not have a license to practice medicine in Florida.
Jimenez De Rodriguez is being held in the Miami-Dade County Jail on a $5,000 bond. She faces charges of practicing medicine without a license and resisting arrest.
