Lil Boosie revealed he has finished his battle with kidney cancer and is now 100 percent cancer-free.
Earlier this week, the Louisiana rapper shared on social media that he was at the hospital for his annual cancer check-up. took to social media to share a video of himself during his annual doctor’s appointment. “ANNUAL CANCER CHECK-UP,” he captioned the post. “ALL MY FAMILY N FANS SAY A PRAYER FOR ME AS I WAIT ON MY RESULTS. #prayerispowerful #fuckcancer.”
A few hours later, the rapper took to Twitter to share the good news that he was finally cancer-free. “IM CANCER FREE #tearofjoy Thanks to everybody said a prayer for me #GODISGREAT.”
In 2015, he was diagnosed with kidney Cancer and candidly shared the specifics of his health journey with his fans.
Boosie revealed that he didn’t have medical insurance and the costly payments for treatment would be coming out of pocket. He eventually decided on the treatment he wanted, undergoing a nephrectomy to remove the cancer. The surgery reportedly cost him a whopping $90,000 in cash- upfront.
Thankfully, the surgery was a success for the rapper who already had a history of health issues due to diabetes. In 2016, Boosie released music detailing his experience during his diagnosis called “Cancer.”
