A stray dog kept stealing a unicorn stuffed animal from Dollar General, so animal control went ahead and bought it for her. Now, the pooch has been adopted.
We all have those toys that we never want to give up. That’s the same situation for Sisu, a large male stray dog that would continuously go to a Dollar General in Kenansville, North Carolina five times to steal the same stuffed unicorn, CNN reports.
After Sisu stole the animal the fifth time around, Duplin County Animal Control officer Samantha Lane decided to purchase the purple plush toy for the Labrador mix. The purple unicorn with hot pink hooves was just $10. Mesmerized by how adorable the dog was with his fellow furry friend, the department posted a picture of Sisu with the unicorn in the shelter. Eventually, Sisu’s story went viral.
“This is what happens when you break into the dollar general consistently to steal the purple unicorn that you laid claim to but then get animal control called to lock you up for your B & E and larceny but the officer purchases your item for you and brings it in with you,” the Facebook post says.
Just a day later, Sisu and his unicorn were adopted, according to animal services.
