Famed NYC Restaurant Carbone Introduces Jarred Pasta Sauce Line

New York City restaurant Carbone announced it is now selling its famous pasta sauce in a jar so you can enjoy it at home.

The jarred sauce is available through the restaurant’s new consumer goods brand, Carbone Fine Food. The products will be available on CarboneFineFoods.com as well as through retail giant Amazon. In the coming months, Carbone has plans to bring its products to Stop & Shop locations in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and across the Eastern seaboard.

The sauce was created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick, all co-founders of the global restaurant company Major Food Group.

“Creating staple sauces for the home cook that possesses the craft we’re known for has been a goal for some time,” co-founder Mario Carbone stated. “The challenge was to create a product that would not only cut down cooking time but also truly deliver on the promise of unequaled flavor, and we can now say that that’s exactly what we’ve done. We couldn’t be more excited — and there’s much more to come.”

The sauce comes in marinara, arrabbiata, and tomato basil varieties. Each sauce is made in a small batch using fresh ingredients, including Italian tomatoes picked at peak ripeness. The sauce is pre-cooked for about one hour by Carbone’s team of chefs before being jarred. The jars retail for $9 per 24-ounce jar.

“The sauce category is a crowded one, but what it is lacking is a premium product that can stand up to what’s served in restaurants,” Eric Skae, CEO of Carbone Fine Foods, said in a news release. “Chefs Mario and Rich have created the highest quality sauce on the market. They found a way to jar the Carbone experience. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
