Miley Cyrus has announced that she is collaborating with Cash App to allocate $1 million in stocks to fans, making her the first person in history to give away such a large number of shares en masse in such a near-instantaneous manner.
“Nothing is more important than investing in yourself,” Cyrus wrote in an Instagram and Twitter post this morning. “I want to spread ownership to as many people as I can, so I’m teaming up with @CashApp to give out $1 MILLION in stocks.”
Fans can qualify to win publicly traded stocks by posting their favorite company with their $cashtag. The winners will be chosen at random and will receive fractional shares in publicly traded companies via Cash App.
The campaign began on March 31 and will run until April 13 or until the entire million dollars have been distributed. Cyrus will be able to inspire her fans while also endorsing Cash App’s goal to make financial literacy more accessible.
