Facebook confirmed that it removed the account of Noah Green, the suspect identified in Friday’s fatal attack at the Capitol. His Instagram account has also been suspended.
“After this horrific event, our thoughts are with the Capitol Police and their loved ones,” Facebook said in a statement. “We have designated the incident under our Dangerous Individuals and Organization policy, which means we have removed the suspect’s accounts from Facebook and Instagram, and are removing any content that praises, supports, or represents the attack or the suspect.”
The social media outlet said they are in contact with law enforcement as they investigate the incident.
One officer was killed after Green, 25, rammed his car into two officers at a barricade outside the Capitol. The suspect then exited the vehicle with a knife, charging toward police before being shot dead.
According to the New York Post, who viewed his social media page before it was suspended, Green’s posts spoke about losing his job after graduating college and of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. He posted hours before the attack that he believed federal law enforcement agencies attempted to perform mind-control experiments on him.
