Scott Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi is an certified GOOD music talent, who first made a mark in Hollywood as a lead on HBO’s How to Make It in America.

The HBO show has since been canceled but that hasn’t stopped Cudi from pursuing more challenging roles.. I’m an artist – it’s all about playing characters that are intriguing and stimulating.”

Indeed the role he plays in the James White film is intriguing (Cudi plays the gay best friend of the movie’s heterosexual lead), and some might even say bold. “When he comes out of the closet it’s not really a thing,” he told Billboard. “I think that’s something the world needs to see. ‘Cause it’s not a thing. We’re all equal.”

Riding high after the film wrapped, Cudi didn’t find out his scene was cut from the film until the premire.. “I’m mad Josh Mond (the film’s director) cut out my kissing scenes,” Cudi said during an audience Q&A session after the film. “We made out so many times, and it was so good! That’s my only gripe.”

When asked did he have any hesitations playing a gay character Cudi said – “No. My thing is what story are we trying to tell here,” Cudi told Billboard. “I didn’t flinch. I’m secure with mine. I’m an artist — it’s all about playing characters that are intriguing and stimulating.”

While Cudi’s acting chops in the film were all the buzz, he hasn’t left homebase which is his music.. he recently announced the reuniting of the old team (A-Trak, Emile Haynie, Dot Da Genius, MGMT, Ratatat and Plain Pat) for “Man On The Moon 3”
