NFL Reportedly Discussing Possible Deshaun Watson Suspension Amid New Lawsuit

A well-known Houston Chronicle football reporter was recently fired for his controversial comments regarding Deshaun Watson‘s sexual assault victims.

“In his case, you know, it’s kind of you don’t negotiate with terrorists,” said Aaron Wilson on The Greg Hill Show, essentially comparing the women suing Watson. “People are demanding money; they’re asking for money. It kept escalating, and it kept going up and up and up. You’re talking about more and more funds, I’m not going to say how much it got to, but my understanding is, you know, that there was an admission that, it was, you know, something, you know just that this was, you know, just a money grab.”

Although the Houston Chronicle did not confirm these comments were why Wilson was let go, it is very much likely that they were.

After being fired, Wilson did come out and apologize for his “poor judgment” and took full responsibility for his choice of words.

“I made a mistake that I fully understand and own when I did not choose my words nearly carefully enough… regarding the sensitive, complex and controversial Deshaun Watson legal situation, in the days following the initial filing of the civil lawsuits from women against him,” said Wilson in his apology.

Watson, Houston Texans quarterback, has been accused by 22 women of sexual misconduct and assault. According to USA Today, Watson allegedly “exposed himself or touched them with his genitals during massage sessions.”
