According to WPLG, a Florida judge rejected a defense motion to keep certain evidence out of public view in the case of a Pennsylvania woman who police say was drugged and sexually assaulted before she was found dead in a Miami Beach hotel.
Christine, 24, of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was found dead inside the Albion Hotel on March 18, according to police. Two men, Evoire, 21, and Dorian, 24, have been charged with sexual battery, burglary and credit card fraud. The charges are allegations, and the case is still pending.
Evoire’s attorneys had asked the court to keep some evidence from the public, including security video from inside the hotel, a recorded interview, and statements he allegedly made to investigators. His legal team argued that they did not want their client tried in the media.
The judge denied the motion. The defense was given time to ask an appeals court to review the decision, which means the evidence could stay out of the public eye for the time being.
Investigators say Christine met the two men at a restaurant. During a hearing, a prosecutor showed the court surveillance video that allegedly shows the men picking her up and that she was unable to consent.
Samantha, a close friend of Christine, said: “This is the last person I would ever think this would happen to.” She described her friend as a good person who would do anything for anybody.
