Running back Ray Rice and the Baltimore Ravens have reportedly reached a settlement prior to his grievance hearing that began Thursday.
Ray Rice was released from the team on September 8th after an elevator video surfaced showing the three-time Pro Bowl knocking out his then fiancée, Janay Rice. Rice had been seeking $3.5 million in back pay after winning his appeal to overturn the indefinite ban from the NFL. The $3.5 million in back pay would be what Rice would have made in the final 15 weeks of the season after serving a two game suspension.
Ravens officials have not confirmed the settlement yet but Rice, who turns 28 next week, is a free agent and is available to sign with any team.
