The Atlanta Police Department is looking into citing the parents of teens who sell water at traffic intersections.

We’ve all seen citizens of our communities making a little side hustle by selling items like flowers, carnival toys, balloons, and more on the street or at traffic intersections. But, the police in Atlanta aren’t happy about teens selling water, and they are taking it up with the teens’ parents.

ATL police are worried about teens’ safety as they sell water at dangerous traffic intersections. The teens are often seen darting through the streets as the traffic lights change from red to green. While the police want the water selling to end, they say they understand the hustle.

“I support those kids. I kinda like what they are doing. I think they could be a little more professional,” one of the drivers told a local news outlet. They added that while they like the teens’ work ethic, it’s just too dangerous for kids and motorists. “They shouldn’t be selling stuff in traffic. They need to be safe,” another driver told the outlet.

Atlanta has banned people from selling bottled water on the street after hundreds of people called and left complaints with the police department. Arresting the teens is the last thing the police say they want to do. To put an end to the water selling, police propose the citation of parents.
