“I’m not a businessman; I’m a business, man.” Rapper and mogul Jay-Z is reportedly adding a production company to his ever-growing list of business ventures.
TMZÂ obtained legal documents showing S. Carter Enterprises filed to trademark “2/J” on Monday for “entertainment services” like the “creation, development, and production” of various types of projects. The docs list movies, television programming, TV series, and “similar projects” as the company’s focus.Â
Hov just sold his Tidal streaming service to Jack Dorsey’s Square for more than $300 million. Tidal will operate independently of Square, and Jay-Z was named to the board of the mobile payments company.Â
It has also been reported that Jay is throwing his hat into the NFT ring. His name is among the star-studded list of investors behind San Francisco-based startup Bitski. The NFT marketplace was able to raise a total of $19 million this funding round.
