Two women and a 4-year-old girl were wounded in a shooting at New York’s Times Square on Saturday, New York police said.
According to CNN, the women and child are believed to be innocent bystanders who were hit after shots rang out at about 4:55 p.m. near 45th Street and 7th Avenue.
Eyewitnesses told cops that the shooting stemmed from a dispute on the street involving two groups of males and that during the heated dispute, at least one person pulled out a gun, New York Police Department Commissioner Dermot Shea said.
The 4-year-old girl from Brooklyn was with her family when she was shot in the leg. She is expected to undergo surgery at Bellevue Hospital, Shea said.
A 23-year-old woman from Rhode Island also was shot in the leg. And a 43-year-old woman from New Jersey was also shot in the foot. Both women were also transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.
