If you’re like me, you’re probably a big fan of DJ Esco, Future’s tour DJ and resident DJ for Atlanta’s Magic City on Mondays. The self proclaimed “hippie” has been M.I.A from social media, leading many to wonder where he’s been.
The last time we’ve heard from Esco he was in Dubai with Future DJ’ing a show. Several weeks later, things have been quite silent. It appears that the reason we haven’t heard from him is because the beloved Atlanta DJ has been arrested. An Instagram user posted to Instagram “Free DJ Esco, he was arrested in Dubai. If you don’t know, drugs are strictly prohibited in the United Arab Emirates, which remains strongly conservative and Islamic despite the large population and tourism industry. They go hard on drug related offenses. Simple possession carries up to four years. Prayers for my brother, bring him home ASAP.
We were able to confirm that Esco was indeed arrested in Dubai for possession of marijuana and has been detained for nearly two months. Future has yet to comment and no further details have been made available as of yet.
I’ve personally met Esco and he’s the sweetest guy, and one hell of a DJ. The man obviously loves his weed. Hopefully he makes it through this without doing severe time.
