For the first time in more than a year, you’ll be able to see people’s smiles as they experience the “Happiest Place on Earth.” In a sign that things are starting to return to “normal,” Walt Disney World announced Friday that face masks in outdoor areas would be optional, per updated CDC guidelines.

Beginning Saturday, masks are optional for guests in outdoor common areas, such as theme parks, resort grounds, and pool areas. Masks will still be required in ride queues, theaters, and on all transportation.

“Today’s guidance that we got from the CDC in terms of those that were vaccinated do not necessarily need to wear masks anymore, both outdoors and indoors is very big news for us,” said Disney CEO Bob Chapek in a call with analysts, according to USA Today.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now says fully vaccinated Americans no longer need to wear face coverings outdoors or indoors. This includes crowded spaces.

Chapek also said that the Orlando theme park has been increasing capacity. These steps follow other changes made earlier this month, such as getting rid of temperature checks beginning May 16 and reducing social distancing measurements.
